Orange Potatoes?

I never know what I should make for dinner. So I asked Austin what he would like for dinner...his response was:

Austin: Potatoes
Mom: You don't like potatoes
Austin: Potatoes in the orange
Mom: You want orange potatoes
Austin: Yep, like at grandpa's
Mom: Sweet Potatoes
Austin: Yes, Sweet Potatoes.

I guess he takes after his dad in liking sweet potatoes not his mom.

Funny things kids say!

Austin has been coming up with some funny things lately. Here are a few...

We were eating breakfast yesterday and this was our conversation.
Austin: Mom your a big missy
Mom: I'm what..
Austin: A Big missy, you know like Abby is a little missy you are a big missy.

Apparently when abby is getting into things she shouldn't I say "hey out of there little missy." However I don't know what I was getting into :)
_________

When I am tired in the morning and laying on the couch and Austin wants something he is not supposed to have he says mom you can go to sleep..just close your eyes. Of course then I won't see what he is getting into.
_________

Austin came into our front room where I was working on the computer a few minutes ago.
Austin: "mom you are a silly goose"
Mom: Why am I silly
Ausin: Because you are

Austin has been coming up with new tricks..jumping, somersaults, things like that and I always tell him he is a silly goose.
_________

I have to say my favorite thing he does is the first thing in the morning he wakes up and comes into my room.

Austin: Mom its not dark outside
Mom: It's not
Austin: No, its time to get up. I want some fruit snacks
Mom: Austin we haven't even had breakfast yet
Austin: Can we have cereal so I can have fruit snacks.
Mom: No fruit Snacks

We have this conversation almost every morning..you would think that he would remember he is not getting any fruit snacks. Plus I dont know where he gets it. He has never gotten fruit snacks in the morning. I guess it is just wishful thinking on his part.

The kids!

I thought I would post some updated pictures of the kids playing.

They play so nice at times..sharing their toys and all.

And two seconds later Austin is taking all the toys and Abby is crying..She has been very sensitive lately...if Austin raises his voice at her..she cries.

Abby found a new chair...Mikes Server..they know they can't play by the computer...but it is the favorite place to play.. I am excited though that her hair is finally long enough for pig tails..they look so cute I have to say.

Austin and his animal cards..He loves to find the matching animals.

And this is what I get when I ask Austin for a smile....

Working, Working, Working

Today was a day to work on the new house. We were getting the electrical boxes put on the studs for plug ins and light switches. The kids were playing in the house at first but then decided they needed to go play outside...which consists of a whole lot of MUD. Abby loves to play outside, since it is winter and they haven't been out for ages. Abby loved playing in all the muddy tire tracks which are like 6 inches deep. It was just a little sad because her legs are not long enough to step over them. So when I looked at the window she was just sitting in a big pile of mud...it looked so cute because she just wasn't sure what to do about it, I wish I would have had my camera. Of course all Austin could do was say "Mom, Abby is sitting in the mud and eating it" Needless to say when we came home the kids went straight into the tub.

Problem...?

So I have this problem... well Mike considers it a problem...he tells me everything in moderation. When I get an idea in my head I just can't help but get started on it. I have been thinking ahead to when we move and have the baby and I decided that I need to get decor for Abby's room done..since it wont get done later. I have been working on a quilt, pillowcase, curtains, throw pillow, and blocks with Abby's name on it for her room. I have gotten quite far. I decided to do her room pink, brown, and white so here is what I have. The blocks are wood covered in fabric..hopefully when Candace comes to Burley next she will bring her Cricut with her :) so I can put the letters on them. Now I just need to get the quilt tied, the pillow form for the throw pillow, and the curtains finished. Then on to Austins room. I have the fabric for his just to get started. I guess after we move I will have to take pictures of their rooms done.

Projects, Projects, Projects

I have been working on all my projects lately. When I had Austin I made his bumper pads and wall hanging for his room to match the quilt Viola made for him. When I made the bumper pads I really didn't know what I was making so they didn't turn out how I would have liked. . Since we are having another boy I plan on just using the same crib set, but I wanted to modify the bumper pads to what I want. So I have taken them completely apart and put them back together. I have them about done. Just have the ties to finish putting on.

Rozanne said I needed before and after pictures...so this is what they looked like before..they were 4 separate bumper pads and they were really fat, and a pain to take on and off and wash.

Now it is thinner like a regular bumper pad and it is just one long one. It should be alot better.

Our little Climber!

Abby is our little climber. She climbs on everything....including when she wants to be picked up she climbs up yours legs, and smashes your toes. Its great fun. Today Austin was sitting at the bar waiting for lunch and Abby decided she is old enough to sit at the bar with Austin so up she climbed. She was so proud of herself for being able to sit up like a big girl but I couldn't get her to smile in any of the pictures.
