Eli Alexander Ricks

Eli Alexander Ricks
Born: May 28, 2010
Time: 12:09pm
Weight: 7 lbs 15 oz
Height: 21 Inches

Here are some pictures of our little Eli. Austin and Abby are so excited to have a new baby brother. They just love to rub his head. We are teaching Abby how to be soft with Eli. Austin and Abby have been staying with Grandma and Grandpa Ricks, they are having a great time. But we miss them so they will probably be coming home soon :)

This is Eli not to long after he was born... before they got him cleaned up.

Here is Eli with dad.

Austin calls Eli "Baby Brother" he says that is what his name is and he wanted to hold his baby brother, I told him to hold his head and this is what I got.

This is after we came home, he loves to sleep...during the day.

Here is our little man. I forget how small they are when they are born. He seems so much smaller than Austin and Abby were but he is bigger than either of them. I guess we forget as they get big how small they were.

Music

I must be true that music soothes the savage beast. Well I guess my kids aren't savage beasts but about 7:15 each night it seems like I am so tired, and they have been fighting non-stop all day and I just can stand it anymore..oh and mike is working so he can't entertain them..I just wonder what I can do to get them to calm down so I can get some peace. I guess all I have to do is turn on the music and they start being nice to each other...I don't know why I didn't discover this sooner. They seem to actually be nice to each other and dance around the room...ah the peacefulness I just have one hour left until bedtime. Now I know why my mom was always singing in our house of me and four boys, she needed the peace.

Another Baby Update!

Well I had another doctors appointment today, still the same except the baby has dropped a little bit. We are at a 4, 80%, and a -1. The doctor gave me the choice of waiting until I go into labor on my own or being induced. I chose to the schedule the induction date, that way I can have somewhere for the other kids to go. I am down to just a few days. They are going to induce me on Friday May 28th.

House Update

They have started to trench for the ground loop for our heating system. Here are some pictures of them digging the trench. It is 8 feet deep...Austin was so sad he had to stay in the car while I took pictures but I knew where he would end up..at the bottom of the trench.

More Baby Progress...

More baby progress...Or no progress at all :( Well I had another doctors appointment today and no new progress. I am still at a 4, 80%, and a -2. I guess it is just wishful thinking that I am going to go into labor early. I guess I am just overly ready for this baby to come...or maybe it is the fact that I feel so huge. I don't think this picture depicts just how huge I am..and I took it last night.

Baby Progress

Well I guess it is official I have started to dilate which hopefully means it shouldn't be to much longer until we have a new member of the family...however we still need to come up with some names. I went to the doctor on Monday May 10 and I am already between a 3 and a 4. The doctor told me a need to take it easy so that I go at least another week..he said two weeks would be nice considering I am only at 36 weeks. I guess this gives me an excuse to be lazy :) Now just to keep the kids from jumping on me and I will be good.

The Latest Craft

So I have been really bored lately and I decided it is time for another craft. So I found this purse pattern online and thought it would be cute. I am not the greatest photographer but here it is. Here is the original link they have better picture. I made mine larger than theirs, more of a small diaper bag size, after my first attempt turned out so small.

Next on my list is to get the kids quilts done...I need to get them on the frames and get them tied before the baby comes and the house gets done.
